Good afternoon Resident
The team wanted to share the good news stories that have occurred in the local area over the last few weeks, following the work the team has been doing. This is the work that the teams of Beckenham Town and Copers Cope, Clock House, Kelsey and Eden Park and Shortlands and Park Langley have been a part of.
The Clock House team have been working very closely with housing associations to protect some of our vulnerable residents; the team have managed to secure on partial closure order on one address where there was significant Anti-Social Behaviour. A partial closure order allows for the resident to stay in their home whilst preventing other individuals accessing the property to reduce Anti-Social Behaviour or Criminal Activity. With this in effect the team have been conducting daily checks on the address, there has been one individual arrested following a breach of the court order.
Beckenham Team have been working with Waitrose to target the top offenders of shoplifting; the team have seen positive results with a number of individuals identified and arrested. Investigations are being continued into these individuals. The Beckenham Team are also trying to work with the other local shops to increase reporting of incidents.
Shortlands Team have been working with housing managers to protect a number of vulnerable people across the ward. A number of visits have been conducted to speak with individuals within the properties. If you are worried that you or someone you know, being a victim of crime please report it on 101 or online through the Met Police Website.
Kelsey and Eden Park Team have been working alongside the local shops, that have been targeted for shoplifting, a day of action was taken around some of these shops, the team are in the process of trying to identify the individuals involved and working with the shops on further operations. In addition, to shoplifting they are also working with store security around individuals begging outside of the store.
Our schools’ officers have been liaising with the local secondary schools and primary schools, as the end of year is approaching ensuring that all the young people are ready for the transition into secondary school and going up the years. Their work will be continuing into the coming weeks, with more school visits and assemblies.
Each of the wards have hosted a Walk, Talk and Do as part of the larger Violence Against Women and Girls Scheme, the teams will be looking to host an event to hopefully reach more residents giving them the opportunity to speak with officers and partner agencies around support and crime prevention.
